Three flats and one commercial unit have been created from a listed building in Dorking Town Centre. Our priority was to bring natural light into all the spaces whilst also satisfying conservation demands. Each flat has privacy and access to outdoor space. A new single storey building clad in green oak boarding with a stressed ply stainless steel roof houses one of the flats within the rear yard. Its pitched and hipped roof forms a generous tent-like full height living space. Its presence re-animates the space of the yard.
