The scheme for Metchley Hall was geared around the delivery of the site for a September 2011 student intake. The site constraints included a main sewer diversion and a very tight contract period with a start on site being made in March 2011. This led to the use of complete prefabricated room pods for the 65 studios which were manufactured off site. Managing the subcontractors, programme and the co-ordination of each design package was key to the delivery of the scheme ensuring that there was no margin for error which could ultimately jeopardise the inflexible practical completion date. Metchley Hall was successfully handed over on time and to budget to a delighted client.
