Chantry Studio is a new build artist's studio and Gallery in Dorset. The project is a collaboration between YOU&ME and artist Rob Woolner. Shou Sugi Ban Japanese charred timber techniques create a silvery black cladding. The symmetrical openings and steel slots set in the structure create highlights within the black box, taking cues from the artist's work. The project was delivered without planning under permitted development rights and delivered to a very tight budget working with a local timber framing contractor.
