The ISIS building, for educational client EF Language won a commendation from the Oxford Preservation Trust. It won the EF International School of the Year 2014, and was nominated for the RIBA South East Awards. The building on Pullens Lane, Headington, provides new facilities for several hundred students to learn English whilst undertaking a varied extra curriculum. Openness and light are themes that underpin the design, with vistas through the building linking dining and reception spaces back to a central feature stair. Students and staff voted the new building as ‘EF international School of the Year 2014’. EF are established in close to 500 locations spread across no less than 50 countries. The Oxford Preservation Trust also commended the building’s design. The judges “praised the architectural coherence of design that the school has brought to the site formerly occupied by Plater College. The glazed facade to the entrance works particularly well and positively invites you to pass over the threshold”.
