Creating a four bedroom family home in Notting Hill / Ladbroke Grove that completely transformed a dilapidated 1870s terraced house. The brief opened up family kitchen and living spaces split over two floors. The creation of a double height space leading onto a new garden was made possible through the excavation and underpinning of the garden walls. Creation of a roof terrace after Conservation Area consent and rebuilding of the old butterfly roof. The double height space features unique curved glazed openings with curves then referenced back around the house and garden through details and fixtures. Restoration of the original brick walls with lime pointing. Insulation with breathable materials using wood fibre internal wall insulation, allowing the historic walls to move moisture rather than trapping it.
