Woldon has completed a full refurbishment and extension of a Grade II Regency town house and mews in Knightsbridge. The house was unmodernised with many original features lost through wartime bomb damage and subsequent renovations. As part of the redesign, Planning consent was achieved for the removal of unsympathetic 20th century additions and rebuild of much of the rear of the house with a new three-storey infill extension. Awkward level changes were resolved to create better flow through the house and more generous rooms. The refurbished house is complemented by a redesigned mews building at the rear and landscape scheme with a roof terrace. The outlook of the house is unique with long-reaching views to the front over Brompton Square and, over the rear garden, towards Holy Trinity Brompton. Working in collaboration with Guy Goodfellow Interiors, an interiors scheme was developed that captures the spirit of the historic house and restores an elegance through fine Regency details in joinery, cornicing and finishes. The work breathes fresh life and brings a new brightness to tired spaces with a palette of natural materials, and rich textures and colours.
