The client was a development company which had owned the shopping centre for a number of years and we carried out various projects for the centre including converting and extending office floors to form new apartments, gaining a planning consent to roof over the (open air) mall space and construct new apartment block and replanning retail units to increase floor area. The apartments and the mall roofing projects were both demanding in planning terms and we worked with a full team incouding a planning consultant and planning lawyer. The process included running a public consultation event. The mall roofing project also included new apartment blocks and was 3D modelled with the model being used as an active tool in the design team meetings.
