New Build
The original client was a development company for whom we had worked on a number of sites and we gained a planning consent for them on this site for 22 units. They then sold the site to a second development company who commissioned us to gain a second planning consent for an alteration to the design which they felt better suited the residential market they were operating in. The scheme was a mixed use development of apartments with a ground floor restaurant unit. The new-build building used a combination or render and terracotta panels for the external facings and featured a number of multi-level apartments with glass bridges. The building was designed without a basement as an adjacent site was know to contain mediaeval burial pits and the client(s) wanted to avoid any potential problems with archaeological excavations which basements might cause.
