The site is an empty plot consisting of only 80 mature olive trees just outside the city limits of Limenas on Thassos Island. The brief was to design 2 houses, one no 3 bedroom house and one no 1 bedroom house whilst maintaining as much natural landscaping and avoiding cutting down the existing olive trees. Due to the vast variety of local stone available, this was a primary material for the external and internal design, with a sustainable and low carbon approach ensured throughout and solar panels planned for the roof.
