Architectural and technical design for The College Hub at Canford School, transforming a 1930s cellular dormitory into a flexible study and social environment for sixth form students. Working with structural engineers to open up the building while working with the reinforced concrete frame, we introduced a three storey atrium and a new spiral stair to strengthen visual and social connections between floors while restoring the original feature staircase. The project blends contemporary interventions with retained historic features to create varied formal and informal learning spaces that support independent study, wellbeing and preparation for university life.
