Williams Lester won this project through an invited competition on the basis of the quality of our concept and approach. The brief was for a new SIxth Fomr college with student accomodation and a new social and teaching hub. Our concept created a new quad for the school and introduced a flexible accommodation strategy. The site is next to a grade I listed building and includes the retrofitting of a curtilege listed building. We have worked with the client to develop the design through concept to technical design. This included a series of brief development exercises and testing of the proposals. At planning stage we liaised with English Heritage and the local authority to gain planning approval. The design was well received.
