Two bespoke houses set within an awkward back-lands London location, formerly the client’s joinery workshops and bounded on all sides by the mature rear gardens of Victorian terraces. Constructed almost entirely in timber and glass, they take full advantage of their courtyard configuration, each belying the confines of their location by linking internal living space through consecutive garden spaces to create unexpected vistas. The client has described these houses as a triumph of light and space.
