Alteration to existing property, Within a Conservation Area
The clients asked Williams Griffiths to re-model the first floor flat of the property. We felt that to give the project a consistent feel throughout the building, we would work within the excellent design language from the prior conversion to provide the most sympathetic approach and create an aesthetically consistent outcome. The language of exposed industrial structure prevails, with subdivision walls treated with vertical oak panels, large concealed pivot doors and the re-use of reclaimed material from the project all common themes from the original project, re-imagined. The introduction of a significant cast-in-situ exposed concrete shower room structure completes the material connection with the upper floors, finally bringing all the spaces together under a single aesthetic language.
