Alteration to existing property
First Floor 13 Great James Street , London , Greater London , WC1N 3DN , United Kingdom
A series of rotating grey oak fins recall the original stable frontage when closed, but open to provide light and privacy to the ground floor office of this London mews house. Inside, oak boarding lining the office continue to the first floor to provide a backdrop to the clients' collection of pictures. Here the kitchen was reorganised in oiled oak and green-veined marble, and the staircase opened up with a water-cut polished brass handrail. On the top floor a shower room was squeezed into an extension on the mansard roof, accessed through a secret door in the wardrobes.
