The client wished to extend an existing stone cottage to create an ensuite bedroom and an artist's studio to each end of the property with a new glazed conservatory leading out from the main living space. In addition the existing building was to be thermally upgraded and dampness addressed. North lights were added to the studio; and the additional spaces were linked through to the main structure. Since the property was listed, materials and finishes were to be in keeping with those existing.
