About the practice

Well St Studio is an established architecture practice founded in 2019 by Robert Guest (ARB, RIBA) and based in East London, working over a wide range of scales & typologies. Drawing on over ten years in practise, working for a number or award winning and design led offices including Turner Works, DSDHA and Hayhurst & Co, the studio has a wealth of knowledge and experience in new build work, alterations and conversions, both large and small, historic and cultural projects, residential design, schools and higher education work, along with small to medium scale commercial development. Projects and Ideas are developed using a combination of sketching, drawings and modelmaking, along with a set of strong graphic illustration tools, aiming to allow a full appreciation of the spatial qualities unique to each context, communicating and developing in hand the aims and ideals of a project to clients, planning authorities and to then realise the project. Sustainability forms a critical concern for the studio, we continually explore material use and construction methodologies to inform our approach and focus on low environmental impact and sensitivity, and in recognition of existing site ecological and environmental conditions. The studio's approach is characterised by a thoughtful and considered approach to architecture; careful attention to detail coupled with a close understanding and appreciation of craftsmanship, use of materials, construction techniques, and an engaged process of close client and consultant collaboration.
