Since starting in the profession I have worked on on off houses, initially in UK, as an architectural technician along side an architect/lecturer, in a career now spanning 44 years, 31 years post RIBA qualification. Having manually built road and building, and working with my late father a master carpenter, one has built up good technical knowledge, and still learning, from design and building Technologies to/for future structures, building Code 5 eco Houses, and now developing a passive house, whilst research technology beyond this. Working on one off houses, has taken me from building in Wales, to international clients, refurbishing to work on a super mansion (£300 million) in London. One still enjoying the challenge of designing and building work on individual houses, along with all other works in different sectors, whatever the restrictions every project gives. With the environment the key concern, we are currently designing a new passive house for a client, on the borders of national parks, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, listed or conservation areas. wdpk architects ltd
