Simple monopitch roof profile minimises overshadowing to neighbouring gardens whilst providing appropriate shading to the new dwelling from high-level summer sun. Structural ‘stilts’ and ramped approach raise the building well above potential flood levels. The central reading space and ‘Zen’ garden create a break in the building footprint, drawing light into the circulation space, and separating the private bedroom wing from the riverside living areas.
