Designed in response to clients' brief: “To design a simple, beautiful and efficient freestanding kiosk/cart/shop + space from which Moyses Flowers can prepare and sell flowers. The kiosk should be striking in its appearance and should clearly communicate our logo and style.” In July 2007 a location to one side of the central concourse of the Jubilee Place shopping centre was secured and a two-part elliptical design was developed with a hinged junction that enables one half of the ellipse to open out on wheels. As it is opened up in the early morning it gradually reveals its colourful contents as a range of flowers, plants and gifts are loaded onto the various racks and shelves, and buckets of fresh cut flowers are arrayed around the floor. The kiosk is timber framed with a ply skin on both sides. The outside is clad in mill finish aluminium and the birch ply lining on the inside is stained light grey. Retractable plant stands, a hinged card rack and a sliding shelf all fold out once the unit is opened to increase the display and sales area. The kiosk was installed over the course of one night in early December 2007 and opened for sales the next day. The kiosk is now occupied by Neal's Yard Remedies.
