This conservation site has an existing building which was in a poor state of repair. It was decided to retain the main section of the building a resort it to its former glory. The existing section alongside of a modern extension will produce a distinctive and attractive feature of the Conservation Area. The design has been developed in conjunction with the Planning Department and the Conservation Officer to form a new contemporary extensions which have been sensitively designed to be subservient to the dominant historic building. The extensions is produced in a contemporary style and character, whilst also reflecting the scale, form and some of the original detailing of the main building. Although providing a striking contrast with the older classical building the resultant composition a bold exciting expression.
