New-build mirror and brick house on a constrained site in London E2. he building forms part of a terrace of contemporary houses near to the vibrant E2 Oval. Several construction techniques were considered before opting for traditional masonry construction – which was celebrated with the innovative use of glazed brick and mirror polished stainless steel slips to projecting facades. The house makes great use of a tight wedge-shaped plot to provide a new family house with bike garage, ground floor studio, four bedrooms and a series of garden terraces. The project was the “Innovation” category winner at the 2018 Brick Awards and was featured in Architecture Today and Frame Magazine as well as Architect’s Journal.
