New Build
This international project was a shortlisted competition between architects in the UK represented by Tye Architects and also architects from Spain and the USA. Tye architects won this small invited competition which in the firs instance was for a design intent solution. The clients were then keen for Tye Architects to then move forward with the project and provide the final outline design, planning permit submissions and then technical design leading to on site construction. The location is on the Cayman Island and in the Rum Point area of the northern section to the coastline facing north. The generous width site allowed for an impressive build solution which would include an underground car parking, swimming pool, party deck, 4 bedrooms and large open plan living with panoramic views to the ocean. The concept was inspired by plate techtonics and the idea of the built form growing out from the ground. The material would match the colour of the sand and be modern and clean line living for the external and internal spaces.
