6 new-build family houses for shared ownership on a vacant brownfield site. The stepped terrace on a sloping site is an urban infill project set in a residential area of mainly Victorian terraced housing. The 2½ storey, three bedroom house type features a ‘room in the roof’ design to achieve generous living space on a constrained site. The project achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 by utilising solar thermal panels and a wide cavity wall construction, with brickwork and larch cladding finishes. Grange Road North has been recognised with a Commendation in the Residential category of the Manchester Society of Architects awards
