To mark the Royal Academy of Arts’ 250th anniversary, Transit Studio, in collaboration with Lot Studio, transformed the RA Grand Café, lobby, and courtyard bar. Drawing inspiration from Leonard Rosoman’s Upstairs and Downstairs murals, we introduced a fresh, uplifting palette that lightens and enlivens the historic interiors. Inside, terrazzo-clad tables and food islands create a refined yet welcoming all-day café atmosphere. Outside, the courtyard now features a vibrant mirrored bar and splatter-enamel tables, bringing playful colour and energy to the space. The result celebrates the RA’s artistic heritage while enhancing its role as a social hub for visitors year-round.
