At Le Méridien Ra Beach Hotel & Spa, a former seaside sanatorium south of Barcelona, we transformed the hotel’s historic chapel into a destination cocktail bar. The design traces the hotel’s dramatic axis—from gardens to sea—drawing inspiration from the surrounding Catalan landscape. Rich marble, custom locally sourced terrazzo, and pigmented natural plaster in warm earth tones evoke the region’s geology, while textured fabrics subtly reference local vineyards. Combining year-round appeal with elevated luxury, the bar offers a fireside retreat in winter and a shaded escape in summer, becoming a focal point for guests and enhancing the hotel’s seamless day-to-night experience.
