Sea Containers House is a prominent building located along the vibrant Thames riverfront which is experiencing on-going regeneration from the South Bank to the Tate Modern and beyond. tp bennett saw the project not only as an opportunity to refurbish the existing scheme internally and externally but also to significantly improve the public realm and integrate the building within its context. As well as improvements to the River Walkway, a new route will also be created between the river and upper ground on the west-side of Sea Containers House. The proposals include comprehensively refurbished office-space and a new office building providing 28,000 sqm net of total office space, a 4-star destination hotel as well as restaurants, cafes and a rooftop bar reinvigorating the local area.
