New Build
The client’s brief was to assess options to retain and enhance the existing office use, at 1 Brunel Way, Slough. The building was originally constructed in 1989 in the heart of Slough, providing 4 floors of office accommodation above an under croft car park. The potential development aims to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” through a comprehensive refurbishment and extension of the existing office building that includes a new core and reception pavilion and an additional level of office accommodation at roof level. By infilling the existing voids and terraces that are a distinctive feature of the current building the proposals will create clean uninterrupted floorplates of just over 2,000sq.m around a central atrium. A new fully glazed façade will provide future building occupiers with uninterrupted views of the listed railway station that will benefit greatly from the arrival of CrossRail in 2018.
