The occupier, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems (UK) Ltd required a modern building to combine a front of house shop window, flexible office accommodation, plus a 5,000sqm workshop area suitable for both industrial and technical operations. The resulting 10,000sqm portal framed steel structure spanning 60m provides a 7m clear internal height sufficient for both two-storey offices and a variety of industrial processes. The siting and internal layout enables the building to be extended without disruption to the occupants or working of the facility.
