Nestled in Nature Sevenoaks Nature & Wellbeing Centre A simple light weight cross laminated timber construction allows this prefabricated building to perch on micro-piles within a forested area of the reserve. We wanted to provide an architecture which touches the ground and its surrounding lightly revealing itself slowly as the visitor progresses through each area of the building. The proposed radial shaped plan of the building is orientated around key vistas of the reserve and allows the existing and proposed trees to nestle inbetween the volumes, reducing its impact on the landscape. The building will provide inspiring and uplifting spaces to facilitate the accommodation of conferences, lectures, yoga retreats and weddings, whilst respecting and enabling the use of the nature reserve.
