An Uplifting Family Home Country House, Kent TTA was commissioned to design a new five bedroom house for a challenging site in the village of Goudhurst within the AOONB in Kent. Our brief was to extend and refurbish the property in order to create a sustainable and generous family home for the 21st century that is designed to the highest environmental standards and low energy use. Carefully planned small interventions have made a fit for purpose family home possible within a restricted budget. The new double height porch extension reorients the entrance of the house allowing light to penetrate into the living spaces. The new rear extension opens the living spaces up to the garden and allows light to penetrate deep into the existing spaces.
