An unusually wide beach-front plot with spectacular views was the site for this project to build two houses that could be owned and occupied either together or separately. The larger house is positioned centrally, the smaller is located against the boundary to the East. While respecting the building lines of the adjacent properties, the buildings are placed to enclose a shared swimming pool courtyard for privacy and against the wind. Constructed and clad internally and externally almost entirely of timber, the houses achieve an excellent standard in terms of both life cycle analysis and energy consumption performance.
