This is one of a handful of Tide Mills to survive in the UK, and it had fallen on hard times. HLF funding and an enthusiastic local trust made it possible to undertake wide ranging repairs to bring the machinery back to running order to grind corn and greatly improve visitor facilities, in a complex project involving a wide range of people and skills.
