Walton House is a private home set in Walton-on-Thames, on a lane of large detached residential properties. The overall form is carefully designed for minimalist, contemporary expression; with a clear hierarchy between solid and glazed openings, framing views across the grounds. A large open-plan kitchen and living space opens up to a curates garden, with ornamental grasses. The design vision was to provide a contemporary and refined aesthetic to the home, using a refined palette of materials in a sophisticated way. The project uses the latest smart home technologies, passive design principles to provide smart phone control systems and to reduce the overall carbon footprint.
