The ‘Our Tower’ project has involved a holistic and comprehensive overhaul of Beckford’s Tower, Bath, which was suffering from major leaks to its lantern, had an inaccessible landscape, and outdated interpretation not commensurate with the challenging colonial legacy of its patron. The project involved a major programme of conservation repairs, along with alterations to benefit its accessibility, display, and legibility, including uncovering a lost grotto tunnel, and connecting this within the landscape to Lansdown Cemetery and the Tower itself. Thomas Ford & Partners provided a full architectural service for the project, from RIBA Stage 01 to 06.
