A Local company had expanded, needing larger operating facilities. Their main offices were re-located to an existing office building on a new site; leaving a requirement for a workshop and storage spaces. Therefore, we were assigned to design and construct a new warehouse, demolishing a redundant farmhouse building in the process. This new warehouse was set into the sloping site, keeping the roof height contextual with the surrounding buildings. In order to avoid moisture and tanking below ground level, a retaining wall was built around the site. This allowed the warehouse to be constructed using conventional materials. It is constructed using a steel frame with an insulated cladding envelope. Aiding to avoid risk of condensation. In addition to the warehouse, there were a number of workshops and welfare facilities built at one end of the building, using insulated concrete block work.
