Completed in 2006, this new office building for the British Council in Karachi comprises an open plan office space, meeting rooms and storage within a precast concrete shell. The open plan spaces are combined with areas of glazing to provide a light and aesthetically simple working environment. Almost all areas of glazing are protected by coloured glass louvres which reduce solar gains from the powerful sun and avoid the high temperatures typical to this low lying coastal region of Pakistan.
