This 4-5 bedroom family home was designed to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes level 4. Built on the site of an old Bungalow, the brief was to design a house that looked modern but was firmly rooted in the history of the plot, reusing original elements. It features a triple-height entrance hallway with feature skylights, WC and shower room. A large lounge/dining room leads to a generous kitchen, connected to the garden. Upstairs is a quirky bathroom, spacious bedrooms, study and storage areas. From here stairs lead up to a luxurious, light and airy loft suite with attractive views and separate dressing room. High levels of insulation were installed, high thermal performance doors and windows, solar panels for generating electricity and super-efficient boiler. The plan retained the existing mature garden and front driveway creating a beautiful detached family home for our clients.
