An existing characterful bungalow in a secluded location was extended to create a flexible 4-5 bedroom property with generous living areas for the rental market. The 85m2 1950s bungalow was transformed into a 167m2 space. Chalet style details meet modern glazing and finishes, to open up the property to daylight and link the interior to the green of the garden. Glulam Timber was used to construct the new frame. The choice to avoid structural steel, breathable walls and minimal use of petroleum insulation material added to the projects sustainability features.
