This project involved the preparation and submission of a planning application for the creation of three holiday let units within a rural setting. The scheme brought together a combination of building conversion, extension and new build design, allowing existing structures to be adapted and enhanced while introducing carefully considered new accommodation. This mixed approach required a balanced architectural response, with each element designed to sit comfortably within the wider site and contribute to a coherent overall scheme. The three holiday units were arranged to strengthen the existing group of buildings and create a more defined courtyard setting. The design sought to provide attractive, practical and comfortable guest accommodation while respecting the scale, materials and character of the local rural context. The project demonstrates an approach to rural development which combines sensitive conversion, thoughtful extension and appropriate new build design, supporting rural tourism and business diversification while maintaining the established character of the countryside setting.
