In collaboration with the client we enjoyed designing the conversion, refurbishment and extension of a previous guest house into a large family home. with two en-suites, a family bathroom and their dream kitchen. The master bedroom and en-suite benefits from rooflights and the open plan living, kitchen, dining is brought alive by 3 large lantern skylights and the landscaped garden is shown off through large rear windows. All existing walls were thermally, environmentally and sustainably improved by adding rendered external insulation. The previous L-shaped building had multiple changes in levels which we rationalised in conjunction with the Engineer to improve the layout. We tendered for and managed various sub-contractors on the project including specialist carpenters, bathroom and kitchen designers, plumbers, electricians, landscape gardeners and general builders to ensure that best value and quality were achieved. The clients love their new home and have even welcomed another family member since moving in!
