Teatum & Teatum Projects Ltd / Noiascape Ltd / Thomas J.Teatum , 12 Second Avenue , LONDON , W3 7RX
The internal refurbishment & spatial reorganisation of a 1970?s office building for Sharpe & Co. solicitors in Harrow, London. Sharpe & Co specialise in property and wanted to create a strong public presence for new and existing customers to experience. Public spaces were concentrated on the ground floor, the reorganisation provided a new meeting room with conference facilities, a small meeting room to allow fast signing of documents in an informal but private space and a reception that was to provide a space for staff to meet and review documents. The entrance is characterised by an oak parquet counter that provides a reception and a staff meeting area. Behind the reception runs a full height backlit wall displaying the companies name combined with a manipulated graphic that was developed from one of the firm?s director?s signature. The diffuse wall has the scale of a billboard and seeks to communicate the company to the road externally and provide privacy to the room behind. The main conference room is given new proportions, re-serviced and reorganised with bespoke furniture that integrates audio technology to enable multiple external conference rooms to link simultaneously. Material surfaces and details are minimised to create focus on the central table while at the same time allowing a subtle contrast against those seated at the table.
