Alteration to existing property, Listed Building - Grade II*
Ripple Court, built between 1796 and 1802 for Col. John Baker Sladen, is one of East Kent's most important country houses, designed by Sir John Soane. The proposed changes aim to transform the house into a family-friendly home that accommodates modern living. Plans include relocating the driveway to align with a historic route along the western boundary and converting the Grade II Listed farmhouse, 'Maison Blanche,' for residential use. The principal residence will host up to twenty guests. A new wedding venue, designed to blend seamlessly with the estate, will accommodate up to 100 guests. Using reclaimed materials, weathered finishes, and mature planting, the proposals balance heritage and contemporary needs while evoking a timeless sense of place.
