This project revitalises a prominent site along Regents Canal, transforming a neglected area into a vibrant, mixed-use development. It includes two new houses, Canal House and Little Canal House, and the extension of an existing building to create 13 apartments with office space at the lower and upper ground floors. The houses are built with handmade grey brown bricks that provide a subtle contrast to the surrounding apartment blocks. Their compact ground floors preserve views and create a paved Mews style setting that reconnects the site to the canal. Bedrooms are positioned below water level, offering intimate views of passing boats and strengthening the relationship with the canal. Above, spacious living areas provide sweeping views along the water. The existing building has been carefully extended using lightweight construction to suit the original foundations. Thermal upgrades and new high quality windows have improved comfort and energy performance across the apartments and office spaces.
