Within a Conservation Area, Alteration to existing property
This Victorian town house in the Camden Square Conservation Area was converted from 2 maisonettes into a single family home. Contemporary extensions against the restored period features resulted in an elegant home, with a harmonious juxtaposition between old and new. The glazed rear extension allowed the light to travel to the deep parts of the house as well as creating a seamless connection with the garden. As the rear was facing north, the planting was arranged right up to the rear wall and a sun-lit outdoor dining area was moved further into the garden space. A new dormer extension was added at the top with carefully placed rooflights flooding light down the central staircase.
