Our brief was to remodel the house plan, re-establishing it as a luxurious family residence, thoroughly modernising the interior whilst retaining and enhancing its original period character. Starting with the basic fabric of the building we renewed all mechanical and electrical services, lighting arrangements and heating systems, to create a high specification, energy efficient house. We opened up the kitchen and family living areas on the ground floor, establishing a large, illuminated space, punctuated with a dramatic lozenge-shaped island. Applying the same sympathetic scheme throughout, we updated and refurbished all the bedrooms and bathrooms.
