Described by the Oxford Design Review Panel as 'High Quality Architecture' the design of the new development to the Eastern range of the Grade II Listed Quad, completed 'Simeon's Dream', the Masterplan vision set out at the inauguration of the school's North Oxford site in 1873. The RIBA award winning project includes an 'L' shaped Academic Centre, which provides state of the art learning facilities for the school's students, as well as a top floor beautiful 'Reading room' complete with exposed Oak Glulam Diagrid roof structure. Further to this, the project included the demolition of the existing 1970's Hall and the construction of a magnificent replacement 1000-seater school assembly hall. These developments alleviate pressure on Existing Grade II Listed 'Big School', aligned with the creation of new formal and informal spaces between buildings, including several new external courtyards and an internal glass link between the new hall and the rear of Big School.
