The clients asked us to gradually restore, refurbish and convert their listed house in South London. Having obtained Listed Building Consent and Planning Permission, building works began in 2001. In the first phase, we remodelled the first floor. We inserted a new small bathroom between two re-shaped bedrooms, and created an extra shower room. The second phase consisted of completely reshaping the basement with kitchen and dining room, and creating a better visual connection to the large garden by altering the rear patio and creating new wide, planted steps. In order to improve the connection of the sitting room to the garden, we made a new wide steel and glass balcony, and steps down to the garden patio.
