The brief for this project was the sensitive conversion of a series of redundant and derelict stone threshing barns into a contemporary 4-bedroom family home. Our approach carefully balanced the preservation of the site’s historic agricultural character with the creation of a modern, light-filled living environment. We worked closely with the client from the outset, developing concept designs that respected the barns’ original fabric while introducing thoughtful interventions to suit modern family life. The design process focused on maximising natural light, enhancing spatial flow, and celebrating the existing stonework and traditional construction methods.
