Alteration to existing property, Listed Building - Grade I, Listed Building - Grade II, Listed Building - Grade II*, Scheduled Ancient Monument
We supported Harrow Council with conservation and repair works to three historic structures at Headstone Manor and Museum. The works involve rectifying construction details to prevent water ingress to the buildings and help to preserve the historic timber framed structures. The buildings include the oldest remaining timber framed building in Middlesex, once home to the archbishop of Canterbury, parts of which date from 1310. The site itself is a scheduled ancient monument, and has evolved over centuries into a nationally significant historic site. It is now a museum that plays a vital role in telling the history and evolution of the local area. We supported our clients with planning, listed building and scheduled monument consent which formed part of a grant funding application for the works.
