Planning consent was obtained in 2018 to convert an agricultural building (the Barn) at Brickhouse vineyard into a wedding venue which will complement the Roundhouse (Horse Gin) events venue business. The proposed works will sympathetically restore the Barn, securing its long term future, as well as bringing benefits to the local rural economy. The internal layout of the Barn will be completely remodelled. The majority of the first floor will be removed, unlocking a full-height function space with exposed historic timber trusses and additional accommodation is sensitively arranged and finished with lime render and feature vertical timber cladding within the function area. The Barn's external envelope will be upgraded with a new insulated corrugated roof, brickwork re-pointing, unblocking of original openings and installation of high performance slim profile aluminium doors and windows. Landscape works will also be undertaken adjacent to the Barn to enhance the existing surrounding.
